Dildozavri
Dildozavri or Dildosauri are a punk rock 3-piece. It’s like dinosaurs but with dildos! We decided to use the Slovenian word for dinosaurs (dinozavri) over the English, as it works better phonetically. Our music is what you’d expect to find on Brainache – a mix of Screeching Weasel, The Queers, and Teen Idols, with a tiny sprinkle of NOFX or early blink-182 here and there. I got the idea for such a band back in 2017 or 18, but only got it properly started in 2023. The first album is in the works, about halfway written, and you’ll probably at least get an EP in 2025! You can hear me on vox and bass here.
ddOs
DDoS is a 5-piece gaijin rock band. Because the chance of you knowing what gaijin rock is is basically zero, it’s rock with heavier guitars, tenor vocals and synthesisers, all about technology and anime, also commonly associated with ARGs. The idea behind DDoS was always to pick up the torch that Area 11, the funding and insofar only gaijin rock band, let down when they shifted to generic hard rock with their second album. This my first real band, and I wrote the first song for it back in 2015 at the ripe age of 14. Work on the first album proceeded painstainkingly with the average writing/demoing rate of 1.5 songs / year as I struggled to learn the ins-and-outs of writing for band instead of the classical instruments I was used to. Nonetheless, the album, titled Zero Requiem, was finished in 2023, recorded in 2024, and is shooting for a Q2-Q3 2025 release. It was also the first of my bands to hit the rehearsal phase and have its live debut, which was in April 2023. In this one, I’m the sole writer and frontman on vox, supported by 2 guitarists, bass + drums.
Moonglade
The idea for Moonglade stems back to 2017, a couple years after I discovered Nightwish. As you could’ve guessed by now, it’s a symphonic metal band, in which I aim to combine my rock/metal band writing with my background in writing for symphonic orhcesta. Specifically, the initial idea was for Moonglade to be an image of Nightwish-esque symphonic metal as it was in the Wishmaster/Century Child era, basing more on catchy and well-written band parts than a full orchestration, also aiming to employ only period synthesisers like the Korg N364 and Triton. While this is still the general philosophy of the band and those synthesisers did end up being the only ones used, it became clear already during the demo phase of the first few tracks that a full orchestra will have to be utilised in conjunction, so the synth-only rule was lifted. I came up with ideas for a whole tracklist in one day in 2018, but then concentrated on other projects including DDoS, only returning to active Moonglade writing 5 years later in 2023. As of December 2024, the debut album is about 50% written and demoed and is shooting for a 2026 release with a possible EP earlier. In Moonglade, alongside being the sole writer, I serve as keyboardist and back vocalist, with the rest of the band being comprised of a frontwoman soprano, guitarist, bassist and drummer.
